Inspired by a style of folk costume from Berne, Switzerland, the shape of these stays is appealingly dramatic. The upward slope of the bust line invokes Tudor images, making it a perfect piece for all your renaissance faire needs.
The Cordelia Stays are made of an outer layer of upcycled floral fabric, inner layer of cotton twill, and lining layer of cotton coutil. Stapless, back lacing, heavily boned. These untabbed stays offer full bust support and are based on 18th century stay styles, minus the tabs!
There is one ready to ship piece available in size 38, and one piece available as made to order in your size. For the made to order piece, I will contact you after you place your order to determine your measurements and sizing, and please allow up to three weeks for these stays to ship.
A note on the color: the true color of these stays is somewhere in between the two shades shown here. The fabric has a slight sheen to it and the color does shift somewhat depending on the lighting. They are purple, but a bit more muddier than the royal purple of the last photos.
All Lineage Garments incorporate hand sewing and therefore have small variants unique to each piece.

Sizing: Sizes are determined by natural bust measurement. We recommend taking your natural bust measurement, then choosing a size 2-4″ smaller. If you wear a D cup or larger, sizing down 3-5″ is recommended. For reference, model is wearing size 38 and has measurements of bust 42", waist 35". If your measurements are on the higher end of the range given below, expect a lacing gap.
Size 38 fully closed measures: Bust 38", Waist 31". Recommended for natural body measurements of: Bust 40-43", waist 33-36".
Fabric content: Outer layer upcycled fabric, unknown fiber content. Inner layer upcycled cotton twill, lining layer cotton coutil. Metal grommets, synthetic boning, satin ribbon lacing.
Washing instructions: Spot clean by hand. Machine wash not recommended. We recommend wearing a washable layer underneath your stays, as was done historically. This helps extend the life of your stays and keeps them cleaner.
